Sharing is Caring When Fighting Student Hunger

Sometimes, you know you have to get involved because you can make a difference. That’s why Sara Brown, a health room assistant at Bordeaux Elementary School in Shelton, WA, works to fight student hunger. With over 70 percent of her students’ families as low-income or homeless, hunger is a real issue in her school.

Together, We Can #FightStudentHunger

This fall, we launched the Challenge to End Student Hunger alongside NEA Member Benefits and Bank of America. The goal was to raise awareness about student hunger in America and its impact on school success, and to support the student hunger-related work of NEA members, schools and local/state affiliates through an awards program.
